Technology has totally invaded our lives. And so of course, it has also entered the sporting arena in a big way.
Not only do professional athletes enjoy the latest in high-tech (and safer) gear, the amateur sporting weekend warrior also has access to some truly advanced tracking, training and performance evaluation equipment.
I have to admit that most of the items below are quite pricey, and I cannot see us buying any of them (seeing as we don't engage in competitive sports). These gadgets also probably won't attract the casual sportsman.
We present them below for the benefit of the serious athlete; who is studying his sport and attempting to become the best competitor he can be. We tried to cover most of the major sports.
So without further ado, we offer below:
High Tech Sports Equipment
Baseball; Hit hard. Run fast. Turn left.
Basketball; It's not just a sport, it's a lifestyle.
Soccer; When well played, the game is a dance with a ball.
Tennis
Tennis may be the sport most affected by advances in technology. Rackets are bigger and stronger, yet weigh much less. This has helped create "powerhouse serves" which almost no one can return. As a result, the game of tennis has changed forever.
Maybe this high-tech tennis swing analyzer will help get you back in the game.
Golf has also been affected greatly by modern technology, particularly the clubs. Improved design and larger iron heads contribute to better performance on the greens.
Perhaps this reasonably priced golf sensor will help you cut strokes off your scorecard.
